Bostec, Inc. is a Pacific Northwest company with local customers at the top of its mind.

Lately, we’ve been hearing about a lot of wolves at the gate, so to speak, who barrage companies with emails and phone calls whenever those companies apply for something related to trucking permits or licenses. These scams typically are aimed at carriers who are new entrants into the field.

Often, these calls and emails are from companies and/or phone banks that disguise themselves as the U.S. Department of Transportation or the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and threaten companies to sign up with them or be in violation of federal law. Many of these are from the East Coast and just want people’s money.

According to the DOT, some common scams include such topics as:

  • Drug and alcohol supervisor training
  • FMCSA regulatory and compliance support
  • Unified Carrier Registration compliance
  • Biennial Unified Registration System compliance

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has received questions and complaints about companies that use “aggressive and threatening” tactics to try to convince businesses to sign up for supervisor training regarding drug and alcohol testing.

At Bostec, we’ll never use high-pressure sales or scare tactics to get customers. Instead, what we promise is hard work, personal service, broad expertise and attention to detail. We stay up-to-date on issues related to licensing, and we always have our customers’ best interests at heart.

If you get a call about required drug testing and you’re not sure whether to believe it, call us. Bostec is an experienced drug-testing company that can help with DOT-related concerns about drug testing, alcohol-abuse prevention or workplace safety.

We’ve been assisting companies throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties and the broader Pacific Northwest for decades, whether they need to find the right stance on workplace drug policies, properly train employees to conduct breath-alcohol tests or abide by legal responsibilities regarding drugs in the workplace.

Bostec provides assistance to more than 200 companies that are involved in workplace drug testing, and we also provide training for companies that want to handle testing in-house.

If your business is regulated by the Department of Transportation, we can handle your program.  We will help you navigate the policy requirements, the random testing program, the collections and testing, and many of the other details associated with DOT mandates.

If you are a non-regulated company looking to implement, maintain or improve a workplace drug or alcohol testing program, Bostec has the experience and knowledge to help.

Just reach out to us to learn more.
